Beautiful, simply beautiful. I do a wee bit of training now and then and have spent years looking for something like this.

SenCSS is a sensible standards CSS Framework. Not a grid.

I wanted to take some time to redesign this site and rather than build it out in some secret corner, I figured I may as well just do it here. After all, it’s unlikely more than five or six people will even notice.
Because of an upcoming newspaperish type site I decided to explore a few CSS grid frameworks. They’re all the rage these days, or so I hear. More importantly, I’m going to have a great deal of information to convey in a very small space and without a formal structure I’m hosed.
So I looked at a few grid based CSS libraries.

WCSS (WAP Cascading Style Sheet or WAP CSS) is the mobile version of cascading style sheet. It is a subset of CSS2 (the cascading style sheet language of the World Wide Web) plus some WAP specific extensions.

I’ve been reading a lot about blueprintcss and have been intending to see what the fuss was about. Today I found the time and boy, am I glad I did.
All it really is is a set of CSS files that create columns. By manipulating the class names in the [X]HTML and nesting them together you build little boxes and put them inside bigger boxes. The stylesheets are crafted with a minimum of fluff, well commented and easy to understand. This makes it trivial for anyone with even a passing knowledge of CSS to work effectively within the framework. Think of blueprintcss as a level foundation to build from
Flexible, intuitive and valid. What more could you ask for.
In less than an hour of fiddling about I realized that I am never going to build another site without using this. While I haven’t begun to touch the surface of the framework if I can do this in an hour imagine what someone who knew what they were doing could manage in a day.
If you like CSS and like making little boxes, go get a copy.
