Earlier today time travelers hobbyists decided to cruise a replica Turtle submarine around the Queen Mary while she was docked in NY.
This is not really a good idea. Look at the thing. It’s half mine, half torpedo and full on Wile E. Coyote. No way somebody isn’t going to notice this contraption and unless you have spent the last six years in a coma you have to know that it’s going to scare the crap out of somebody, somewhere.
The original Turtle was designed, in 1775, to drill a hole through an enemy vessel and plant an explosive. Clever, but not so effective; today the crew (one inside the half-submerged thingamabobber and two on a tethered inflatable) was promptly scooped up by the NYPD and Coast Guard. It didn’t go any better two hundred years ago.
