Gutsy Gibbon

I just took an hour and did a quick network install of the current Ububtu distro. I didn’t do this because I was bored or don’t like Windows. I mean, I don’t like Windows, but I’m not big on any operating system and considering what I do on a computer it doesn’t matter much what I OS I run. I installed Ubuntu in the hope of seeing some increased productivity.

I figure that without all by browser widgets, games and multimedia, I might be able to focus a bit more on some long languishing projects. I’m in debt up to my ass and owe more work than I can shake a stick at. Procrastination is an issue and it is far easier (and faster) to change my work environment than my personality.

My XP install has grown over the last year or so. Hell, it’s morphed into a mullet. This crate is all business in the front and all party in the back with iTunes, WoW and other little amusements lurking just beneath the businesslike veneer of my desktop.

At the moment I need to plant my butt in front of a text editor and… uh, edit some text. I’m hoping this will go better without constantly checking my email, Twits popping up all over and fiddling with playlists.
