Two of three are sleeping at friends, my sister/roomate is off wandering Vermont and the punk (and I mean punk in the nicest way) will straggle in long after I’m in bed. The sole survivor has a stack of new X-Box games and I don’t expect him to surface for hours. If not days.
So, I get to browse for fun. And yes, I know my definition of entertainment may not appeal to all.
- John Nack, one of the few bloggers whose links I almost always follow, has a compendium of illustrations with bite. These are all illustrations designed to “shake things up”.
- An absolutely astoundingly obsessive exploration of Roger Fenton’s photographs from Errol Morris writing for the NY Times. This puppy, with comments, is longer than Moby Dick.
- Just how popular is Ubuntu? I didn’t have a clue and after reading Jim Mendenhall’s article I still don’t know, but the comments should develop nicely and there sure are lots of numbers and pretty graphs.
- Deputydog is up for some best new weblog award. I say go vote for him. I haven’t looked at the others and I’m sure they’re lovely weblogs, but I’ve been enjoying the hell out of this blog for weeks. I mean, who else blogs holes and airports.
- I’m a little slow and stating the obvious never hurts. For example, here is a short list of best practices (a couple are debatable but none are bad) for writing HTML markup. I’ve been trying to beat these into my head for years and always miss a few.
- Shelley Powers looks past the pretty tree and spots a forest. If you have the misfortune to know what an API is you might want to make sure that the wheels stay on the OpenSocial bandwagon before hopping aboard.
