AOL, here I come

I started work on a new site and set up a collaborative workspace. I then invited those I thought would be interested. My first reply:

“Please can you delete this email address from your list; I have not applied for an account or any service you offer. Unfortunately, I appear to have several stupid namesakes who repeatedly give my email address as theirs.”

This made me grouchy. In retrospect, considering that I’ve been spamming her for days (note to self: turn off automatic notifications or at least ask first), she was remarkably civil. As it turns out, I owe a very kind woman from some other country an apology.

I also owe an apology to another woman who lives a whole lot closer and isn’t half as kind.
